7,000 Square Foot Addition to the Mercy Home Annaikarai
In 2019, we unveiled a 7,000 square foot addition to the Annaikarai main building, providing housing for over 30 children currently attending school on the premises. The second floor dormitory provides clean, safe housing for the local children abandoned or orphaned. Prior to the addition, these children were housed in run-down, unsafe buildings.
When we first constructed the 14,000 square foot main building it was designed to accommodate a second floor. At the time, we did not have a use for the second floor, so we held off. With the apparent need to house these young children, we constructed ½ of the total area, 7,000 SQ FT, and the children now have a safe place to call home.
The cost of this project was roughly $100,000.00. You can support more efforts like this by attending our fund raisers, direct donations and by spreading the word on the work we are doing.
